Marcelo ‘El Muñeco’ Gallardo Will Be Presented as the Coach of Ecuador

The Argentine coach Marcelo Gallardo, the most successful in the history of River Plate, will be officially presented this Thursday as the coach of Ecuador, which has turned to 'El Muñeco' with the aim of making a leap in the rankings of national team football.

The Ecuadorian Football Federation (FEF) confirmed this Wednesday that the presentation will take place on Thursday at 3:30 PM local time at the House of the Selection, the Tri's sports city in the capital Quito.

The hiring of Gallardo to coach the Ecuadorian national team has generated very high expectations, to the point that some social media pages close to the Government have hinted at the possibility of 'El Muñeco' being received at the Carondelet Palace, the seat of the Presidency, by President Daniel Noboa.

There has also been great interest in Gallardo's arrival in the Ecuadorian capital, although the exact moment when the Argentine will arrive in Ecuadorian territory to take the reins of La Tri has not yet been made public.

Once he is introduced, 'El Muñeco' will get to work, as he must immediately present the list of call-ups for the friendly matches that the Ecuadorian national team will play in South Korea and Japan between the end of September and the beginning of October.

'El Muñeco' will debut on September 24 against South Korea in Seoul, and will subsequently play in a quadrangular in Japan, on October 1 against the Japanese team and on October 5 against New Zealand or Panama. EFE
