PSG Says Goodbye to Presnel Kimpembe
After two decades with the club, Presnel Kimpembe leaves Paris Saint-Germain to join Qatar SC, closing a chapter filled with trophies, injuries, and unforgettable moments in Paris.
A farewell full of gratitude
Paris Saint-Germain has lost one of its longest-serving icons. After 20 years defending the club’s colors, Presnel Kimpembe has confirmed his move to Qatar SC. The 30-year-old French defender joined the PSG academy in 2005 as a child and grew into one of the leaders in the locker room, even serving as vice-captain behind Marquinhos.
In an emotional farewell, Kimpembe thanked the fans: “I am very proud to have been part of this family. Defending these colors has been an honor. I leave with my head full of memories, but this never ends. We will see each other again soon.”
Club president Nasser Al-Khelaïfi also paid tribute: “Since the age of eight, Presnel has grown with us and has been a model of professionalism. He will always be part of the Paris Saint-Germain family.”
A career of trophies and setbacks
Kimpembe’s legacy at PSG is undeniable. He made 241 appearances, scored four goals, and lifted 24 trophies: eight Ligue 1 titles, five French Cups, four League Cups, five French Super Cups, one Champions League, and one UEFA Super Cup. On the international stage, he was also crowned World Cup champion with France in 2018.
