PSG got what they deserved in Lorient draw, says Luis Enrique
Paris Saint-Germain have now drawn three of their last four matches in Ligue 1, after the European champions were held by Lorient.
Luis Enrique feels Paris Saint-Germain got exactly what they deserved from Wednesday's Ligue 1 clash with Lorient.
European champions PSG were held to a 1-1 draw at Stade du Moustoir, where Nuno Mendes' opener was swiftly cancelled out by Igor Silva.
To compound PSG's frustrations, winger Desire Doue suffered a serious-looking injury.
PSG have now failed to win in two of their last three away games against promoted Ligue 1 sides (D2), after winning each of the previous eight, while they have drawn three of their last four top-flight matches and hold just a one-point lead over second-place Monaco.
"I've seen this type of match many times. If you don't get into the rhythm in the first half, it gives the opposition extra motivation," said Luis Enrique.
"When you think you have time to turn things around and you don't do it, it's difficult.
"Given the way everyone defends against us, I feel like we're respected.
"We didn't deserve to win. Congratulations to Lorient, who defended very well. That's football.
"You have to stay focused for 90 minutes; that's important to win this type of match. I said that it would be difficult to win, but no one believed me."
PSG had 15 shots, getting eight of those on target, for an accumulated expected goals (xG) figure of 1.49, while Lorient managed just five attempts for 0.23 xG.
Doue's injury, though, was arguably a bigger blow than the result for PSG, and Luis Enrique conceded he does not know how long the youngster will be out for.
"When you're a professional player, you're used to injuries, and with seven matches in this period, between the international break in October and the one in November, you're used to it," explained Luis Enrique.
"It's normal. Injuries are part of professional football.
"It's always bad news when there are injuries. It's a slightly strange injury, but I don't know exactly how serious it is yet.
"I hope it's not a very serious injury."
