Gio Reyna on the Verge of Completing Ligue 1 Move
United States international Giovanni Reyna is on the verge of becoming a new RC Strasbourg player after the French club reached an agreement to bring him in ahead of the new Ligue 1 season.
The future of Giovanni Reyna appears to be in France. The United States international is just one step away from joining RC Strasbourg, with the French side having reached an agreement with Borussia Mönchengladbach to complete his transfer during the summer window.
The deal is now in its final stages, with only the medical examination remaining before the 23-year-old forward signs his new contract. If everything goes according to plan, Reyna will commit to the Alsace club on a five-year deal, strengthening the team's squad ahead of the upcoming Ligue 1 campaign.
Medical Examination Is the Final Hurdle
According to reports, Giovanni Reyna has been granted permission to leave Borussia Mönchengladbach and travel to France, where he will undergo the medical tests required to finalize his move to RC Strasbourg.

The transfer is reportedly valued at around €3 million, representing an attractive opportunity for a player who still has plenty of time to rediscover the form that made him one of the brightest young talents in European football. A product of Borussia Dortmund's academy, the American arrives with valuable experience in the Bundesliga and with the United States Men's National Team.
Reyna also featured for the United States at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where he once again showcased the attacking quality and creativity that have made him one of the country's most recognizable players.

Strasbourg Continues to Strengthen Its Squad
The expected arrival of Giovanni Reyna is part of RC Strasbourg's plan to reinforce its roster ahead of another challenging season in France's top flight. The club has been active throughout the transfer window and continues adding depth across the squad.
The American is also expected to fill the attacking void left by Valentín Barco, who returned to Chelsea after his loan spell in Alsace. Earlier this summer, Strasbourg also completed the signings of Diogo Sousa from Vitória Guimarães and Mateo Del Blanco from Unión de Santa Fe.
If he successfully completes his medical, Giovanni Reyna will become one of RC Strasbourg's headline signings of the summer, with the club hoping his international experience and offensive talent will help strengthen the team as it prepares for a new Ligue 1 season.
