(VIDEO) Paris Saint-Germain Earns First Ligue 1 Win of the Season Away Against Stade Brest

  • The Parisian side finally picked up three points in Ligue 1 this season. Here are all the details from the match.

Paris Saint-Germain finally celebrated their first win of the Ligue 1 season, defeating Stade Brestois 0-1 at the Francis-Le Blé Stadium. The French champions put their inconsistent start behind them and secured three valuable points as they look to climb back up the standings.

FERRAN TORRES MAKES THE DIFFERENCE

The only goal of the match came in the 5th minute, when Ferran Torres finished off a superb attacking combination involving João Neves and Ousmane Dembélé. The Spanish forward controlled the ball near the edge of the box before firing a low shot past goalkeeper Egil Selvik.

The goal capped a strong run of form for Torres, who has now scored six goals in five appearances for PSG, following his hat-trick in the club's European opener against Slovan Bratislava.

SAFONOV KEEPS PSG AHEAD

PSG had to work much harder than expected to protect their lead. Brest created several dangerous chances, including a Kamory Doumbia effort that struck the post, while Matvéi Safónov produced crucial saves to preserve his clean sheet.

The Luis Enrique-led side finally picked up its first three points of the Ligue 1 campaign after opening the season with two draws and a defeat.

It was far from a dominant performance, but the victory provides a much-needed boost for the French champions, who will now look to carry their strong European form into domestic competition.
