Vinícius Jr. Warns Everyone: "Mbappé Will Be Brutal"
Vinícius Júnior is counting down the days to share adventures with French star Kylian Mbappé, with whom he hopes to "do great things" at Real Madrid. The Brazilian has assured that the season "is going to be brutal" and has set the goal of surpassing the titles achieved last season.
On Thursday, Vinícius and Mbappé will share their first training session as teammates at Real Madrid, just six days before the opportunity to win the first title, the UEFA Super Cup. "It’s going to be brutal; I hope we can do great things," Vinícius said. "We need to take care of him and do everything possible to help him adapt as quickly as possible. It’s always challenging to join a new club, but we did it with Jude, who arrived last season and has excelled. I hope we can repeat that with Kylian."
Vinícius was more patient in his comments when asked about his compatriot Endrick, aware of his youth (18 years old) and the adaptation process he himself experienced moving from Brazilian to European football. "He’s very young, but he has the right mindset to help when we need him."
On a personal note, Vinícius highlighted the good physical condition with which he has joined pre-season training and expressed his hunger for success, aiming to exceed last year's achievements. "I’m very well, happy to be back with the whole team, the staff, and everyone who works with us. We need to return focused because the first game is already a final. We are preparing and waiting for the remaining players so that this season can be as good as the last one," he said in the club’s media.
"I always train hard to come back close to the level I left last season and to be prepared as quickly as possible because we don’t have many days. On the 14th, we already have a big match, and then LaLiga starts. We are ready," he added.
"I want to win more titles than last season, score more goals, provide more assists, and continue evolving because I’m only 24 years old. I’ve been here for six years, but I never get tired of seeing Luka Modric play another year with us, and being able to learn from him and all the other players is always good," he concluded.
