If Bayern Munich Wants Anthony Gordon, They Will Have to Open Their Wallet and Compete With Arsenal
The German giant seems to have shown interest in acquiring the Newcastle United player, and it is not the only one doing so
Good feelings in Germany
FC Bayern Munich is optimistic about the possibility of signing Anthony Gordon this summer, although the move would require a historic investment. According to the BBC, Newcastle United is willing to listen to offers for the 25-year-old English winger, but only if a club meets the $86 million they are asking for. That figure would make Gordon the second most expensive signing in Bayern's history, only behind Harry Kane (102 million) and surpassing Lucas Hernández. The advantage for the Bavarians lies in the fact that the player is aware of the German club's genuine interest and would be open to making the leap to the Bundesliga, which raises the expectations that the transfer could materialize.
The possible arrival of Gordon at Bayern
According to Sky, the talks with Gordon's camp are "very concrete," in an attempt to strengthen the left side and add competition for Luis Díaz, as well as offensive support for Kane. The speed and ability to break thru of the Englishman make him the "absolute option" to revitalize the Munich attack. Fabrizio Romano supports that timeline and adds that Newcastle needs to sell at least one star this summer to comply with Financial Fair Play. Although Gordon is one of the most sought after, Sandro Tonali and Bruno Guimaraes also attract interest from other clubs. However, Bayern is not alone in the bidding: Arsenal appears as a direct rival, with reports from The Sun pointing to an offer of up to 97 million dollars, a figure that the Germans would hardly match.

Other players joining Bayern
Meanwhile, Bayern's signing strategy has shifted toward strengthening their youth academy and reclaiming loaned-out talents. Vincent Kompany has already given more minutes to young players trained at the club and it is reported that he called Noel Aseko to discuss his role in the first team starting next summer. After an 18-month loan at Hannover 96, where he established himself as a key player in midfield, Bayern exercised a buyback clause to bring him back and fill the void left by Leon Goretzka's departure. In parallel, the euphoria over the 4–3 victory against Real Madrid in the Champions League still resonates: Joshua Kimmich confessed that the match left him exhausted and joked that his son could only join "in the third hour" of class after watching the outcome. Now, the captain is already thinking about the semifinal clash against PSG, which he described as "one of the two best teams in Europe at the moment," anticipating a highly demanding duel on April 28 and May 6
