World Title Hopefuls Cohen, Vero Meet In ONE Friday Fights 143 Main Event

Lumpinee Stadium will once again host elite combat action on February 20 at ONE Friday Fights 143. The clash between Shir Cohen and Vero could determine the next atomweight Muay Thai world title challenger.

The world’s largest martial arts organization is heating up February with another massive installment of its weekly series. ONE Friday Fights 143 takes over Bangkok’s Lumpinee Stadium once again on February 20, where 14 battles across Muay Thai and kickboxing will determine who earns life-changing US$100,000 contracts. The main event could even produce the next ONE Women’s Atomweight Muay Thai World Title challenger, as Israeli contender Shir Cohen goes face-to-face with “The Kayan Leopard” Vero.

A Main Event With World Title Implications

Shir Cohen steps into the biggest match of her career Friday night, facing Myanmar sensation Vero in a must-see main event.

Cohen, who holds a 10-1 record, enters on a six-fight winning streak. After winning the Road to ONE: Thailand 2023 tournament to earn her ONE Championship contract, she added three consecutive victories, including a unanimous decision win over former Lion Fight and Enfusion champion Amy Pirnie. That run earned her a world title opportunity against ONE Women’s Atomweight Muay Thai World Champion Allycia Hellen Rodrigues, but injuries repeatedly delayed the bout. Now, to return to the title picture, she must defeat one of the hottest athletes in the division.

Vero, a lethwei specialist, didn’t reach the global stage by accident. The 29-year-old has refined an aggressive style built on brutal boxing exchanges and a punishing left body kick. “The Kayan Leopard,” as she is known, rides a two-fight winning streak, including a major victory over Cohen’s teammate Junior Fairtex, and now seeks her 30th career win and a shot at Rodrigues’ belt.

A Technical Battle Awaits In The Co-Main Event

Former Rajadamnern Stadium World Champion Petapichat Apichat brings precision striking against former Omnoi Stadium Champion Denkriangkrai Mavinn in a flyweight Muay Thai co-main event that promises to satisfy technical purists.

Petapichat fights with a purpose beyond personal glory — each victory honors his late father’s dream of seeing his son succeed in Muay Thai. That emotional fuel carried him from poverty to prominence. At just 23 years old, he owns a 72-11 record, and his fight IQ has set him apart from Thailand’s other strikers.

Denkriangkrai developed his craft in his uncle’s gym built inside a rubber plantation, where limited resources forced him to maximize efficiency. That background produced a southpaw specialist with 60 victories and a three-fight winning streak built on his devastating left body kick and mid-fight adaptability. The 27-year-old thrives when opponents think they have figured him out.

Two Warriors Desperate For Victory

Another pivotal bout at ONE Friday Fights 143 features Nakrob Fairtex, who collides with Panrit Lukjaomaesaiwaree in a bantamweight Muay Thai thriller.

Nakrob earned his life-changing ONE Championship contract by knocking out former top-five contender Tagir Khalilov in June 2024. He then defeated Dedduanglek TDed99 to break into the flyweight rankings. However, tough knockout losses to compatriot Jaosuayai Mor Krungthepthonburi and Japanese striker Taiki Naito have left him fighting to regain momentum.

Panrit faces a similar situation. After a strong start in ONE Friday Fights, the veteran cooled off with losses to Antar Kacem and Krisana Dowdenmuaythai. He now seeks a victory that could revive his trajectory against a member of ONE Championship’s global roster.
