Rhenimi Vows To Turn Hard Lessons Into A Statement Win At ONE Friday Fights 175

  • Abdessamie Rhenimi looks to end his two-fight losing streak when he faces Lamsing T1 Fight Academy in the flyweight Muay Thai main event at ONE Friday Fights 175 on October 16.

Abdessamie Rhenimi has hit a rough patch, but this Friday, October 16, the young Moroccan standout is determined to prove he’s learned from it. Rhenimi steps into a pivotal flyweight Muay Thai main event showdown against Lamsing T1 Fight Academy at ONE Friday Fights 175 inside Bangkok’s Lumpinee Stadium, looking to snap a two-fight skid against a surging veteran.

Turning Setbacks Into Self-Improvement

Rhenimi arrived in ONE Championship as a promising talent, but his last two outings have been difficult ones, including a disqualification loss to Payakrut Suajantokmuaythai and a unanimous decision defeat to Denkriangkrai Mavinn Muaythai this past August.

Rather than dwell on the frustration, the 20-year-old took a hard look in the mirror and broke down exactly where things went wrong in his promotional run.

“I watched the videos of my previous fights to analyze the mistakes I made when I lost control. When you get knocked down, you get aggressive because you want to come back right away,” Rhenimi said.

“I realized those mistakes and worked hard to fix them. Now, I have much better self-control during the fight.”

A Red-Hot Veteran Stands In His Way

Rhenimi will carry those lessons into a tough test against Lamsing, who brings a significant experience edge and plenty of momentum of his own into the flyweight Muay Thai contest.

The 30-year-old Thai owns a 73-18 professional record, with seven of those wins coming inside ONE Championship, and he enters the ONE Friday Fights 175 main event riding a three-bout winning streak that has him inching closer to a career-changing US$100,000 contract.

Rhenimi, however, has done his homework and believes he’s identified a clear path to victory.

“I’ve watched his style and studied him. He is a defensive-style fighter who tries to counter-attack whenever possible. Stepping back, looking for openings, and counter-attacking are his main strengths,” the Moroccan acknowledged. “My plan is to spot those openings during his counter-attacks and use those moments to land my punches and make the most of them.”

A Mindset Built On Controlled Pressure

Rhenimi understands exactly what’s at stake heading into Friday. A third consecutive loss would push any contract or roster conversations further out of reach, adding real weight to an already difficult stretch.

But rather than let that pressure consume him, the Moroccan has reframed it entirely.

“Mentally, I am 100 percent positive and very ready for this fight. I admit there is a bit of pressure since I’ve dropped two fights, and I know I have to win this one. But I don’t let the pressure get to me – I control it and turn that pressure into motivation to secure the victory,” Rhenimi said.

“My primary plan – and really the only plan I have in mind – is to win by knockout, get my hand raised, and earn the performance bonus.”
