Immobile says Inter is favourite to win Scudetto
AC Milan, Napoli and Lazio have all made managerial changes, something Ciro Immobile believes will aid Inter in their Serie A title defence.
Ciro Immobile believes the number of managerial changes made by several Serie A title challengers makes Inter the favourite to win the Scudetto in 2026-2027.
Inter was crowned Serie A champion for the 21st time in Cristian Chivu's first campaign in charge, finishing 11 points clear of the division's previous winner, Napoli.
The Nerazzurri's latest Scudetto triumph was the sixth time it has lifted the trophy with at least three matches remaining, while they also claimed the Coppa Italia title.
While Inter has strengthened on last season's success with the additions of Aleksandar Stankovic, Manuel Akanji and Ivan Provedel, their rivals have been forced to rebuild.
AC Milan, which ended last campaign outside the top four, have appointed Ruben Amorim as Massimiliano Allegri's successor.
However, Allegri was not out of work for long. After being sacked by Milan, he replaced Antonio Conte at Napoli, who left by mutual consent at the end of the season.
Maurizio Sarri has also swapped Lazio for Atalanta, with Gennaro Gattuso now the manager of the Biancocelesti, while Juventus continue to build under Luciano Spalletti.
Former Lazio striker Immobile, who now plays in France with Ligue 1 side Paris FC, believes that continuity at Inter will stand them in good stead ahead of their title defence next season.
"I think Inter are favourites," he said. "I've seen a lot of managerial changes and, therefore, a need to settle, whereas they're already well-drilled.
"Milan, Napoli and Juventus have to gear up to trouble them."
Chivu's impressive first season earned him a new deal with Inter, and he will now remain with the Serie A giant until 2028.
