Konsa joins Premier League champion Arsenal
Arsenal has strengthened its defence further, signing UEFA Europa League winner and England international Ezri Konsa to a long-term contract.
The defender has joined the club from Aston Villa for a reported £51 million ($96.9 million), with a potential of £4 million ($7.6 million) in add-ons.
While Arsenal has not confirmed the length of his contract, simply labelling it "long-term", he is believed to have put pen to paper on a four-year deal with the defending Premier League champion.
Konsa spent seven years with Villa after joining from Brentford in 2019, making 286 appearances in all competitions and scoring 12 goals.
He was also part of the Villa side that won the UEFA Europa League last term, starting as it beat Freiburg 3-0 in the final.
"I'm super excited. It's a privilege to be here, and I can't wait to get started," he said.
"I want to keep winning; I'm hungry to win, and that's what I'm here for. It's a proud moment for me and my family to play for one of the best teams in the world.
"The chemistry they [the defenders] have – they all want to defend for each other. The love they have for defending, they love keeping the ball out of the net, which is what you have to do as a defender.
"But I just love the way they are together. What they've built over the past few years has been special."
Last season, Konsa made 48 appearances in all competitions, with only Morgan Rogers (4,562) being handed more minutes than him (4,170) among Villa players.
He was also part of in England's 2026 FIFA World Cup squad as it finished third, playing in all eight matches and scoring in the third-place play-off win over France.
