Wan-Bissaka back in Premier League with Villa
Aston Villa's rebuild has continued with the season-long loan of Aaron Wan-Bissaka from West Ham United.
The right-back will play for Villa during the 2026-2027 season, with the club having a conditional obligation to buy for a reported £18 million ($34.2 million) next year.
Wan-Bissaka made 65 appearances for West Ham after joining from Manchester United and was named the Hammers' player of the year in his first season.
However, he could not help them avoid relegation from the top-flight last term as they finished 18th.
He made just 25 Premier League appearances last term, but only Konstantinos Mavropanos (49) made more interceptions than him (40), while he also won 23 of his 33 tackles in the competition.
Wan-Bissaka, who played in all four of DR Congo's matches at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, spent five seasons with United before joining West Ham in 2024, making 190 appearances for the Red Devils in all competitions.
He also won the Carabao Cup and FA Cup at United and made 15 appearances in the UEFA Champions League.
Villa, which has seen a lot of big names leave since its UEFA Europa League triumph in May, has made Wan-Bissaka its sixth signing as it prepares to begin its new Premier League campaign against Brighton and Hove Albion on Monday (AEST).
