Bernardo Silva, Heading to MLS?
Bernardo Silva will not continue with Manchester City. His contract with the Sky Blues ends in June, and the Portuguese midfielder is looking for new challenges to continue his career. A return to Benfica seemed like the ideal option for him, but there’s already a suitor who could make him change his mind.
Inter Miami is determined to make history by aiming for a second MLS Cup title, and to achieve it, they need to strengthen their squad. The club has reportedly already started talks with the Portuguese star’s representatives to try to bring him to Florida.
The midfielder would even have the approval of Lionel Messi. Both could perfectly complement each other in the team’s playmaking, which would also relieve some of the offensive burden from the Argentine, who is currently the main attacking creator for Inter Miami.
European Competition for Silva
However, the move wouldn’t be that simple. Bernardo Silva is in the last phase of his prime, and his departure from Manchester City has sparked interest from several European clubs that see him as an ideal piece to strengthen their squads and compete for major objectives.
Juventus are closely monitoring his situation and wants to bring him to Turin to make him a key player in Luciano Spalletti’s project. The Italian side has struggled in the league and was eliminated from the Champions League, so they are looking for a midfielder capable of making a difference. The Bianconeri currently lack a player with Silva’s characteristics, making them one of the top contenders to sign him.

Galatasaray is also in the race for the Portuguese star. The Turkish club is building a highly competitive team, and Silva would fit perfectly in their midfield, as they currently lack a playmaker of his profile. Alongside players like Leroy Sané, Victor Osimhen, and Mauro Icardi, the Istanbul club could form a very strong squad to compete in the Champions League next season.
Of course, there’s also Benfica, the club where Bernardo Silva developed and his strongest emotional connection. It’s no secret that the player dreams of returning to Portugal to finish his career with his beloved club. For the squad led by José Mourinho, signing Silva would add creativity and greater offensive capacity.
The possibility of playing alongside Messi would undoubtedly be a tempting factor for the Portuguese star. He could take on the challenge of an ambitious MLS project or continue in Europe competing at the highest level.
For now, the decision will have to wait. Bernardo Silva is focused on finishing the season with Manchester City, competing in the Champions League and the Premier League, as well as representing Portugal in the World Cup. Most likely, once the global tournament concludes, the talented midfielder’s destination will be revealed, with plenty of offers on the table.
