In the last match of Sunday's Ligue 1 round, Brest and Marseille played a very evenly matched game. Despite playing with a man down for 30 minutes, Brest managed to secure the victory.
Almost throughout the match, the score remained tied thanks to the solid defensive performances of both teams. However, Steve Mounié's expulsion in the 60th minute changed the course of the game, allowing Marseille to intensify their attacks in search of victory. Nevertheless, Brest resisted the assaults of "Les Olympiens" and managed to score a miraculous goal after a glaring defensive error by Marseille, leaving Lees-Melou alone in front of the goalkeeper in the 88th minute.
With this result, Brest climbed to the second place in Ligue 1 with 40 points, while Marseille dropped to the ninth position with 30 points.
