Renovations Continue at La Bombonera: What’s New?
Modernization and expansion of the stadium
From the official @ObrasBocaJuniors account, the club announced the start of new renovation works at the iconic Estadio Alberto J. Armando, better known as La Bombonera or The Temple of Football.
The administration led by president Juan Román Riquelme continues its push to modernize and enhance the infrastructure of Boca Juniors. This time, the club is set to carry out an ambitious series of works at its main stadium, aimed not only at improving general conditions of comfort and safety but also at increasing capacity for members and fans.
According to the announcement, the renovations will expand the stadium’s capacity from the current 57,200 spectators to over 80,000, a historic leap that excites the entire xeneize community. The possibility of fulfilling this long-awaited expansion —promised by the current management— is being met with huge anticipation, as it would represent a decisive step in the integral remodeling project dreamed of by directors, members, and supporters alike.
