Casemiro Stuns Fans: Puts Bale Above Cristiano Ronaldo
The Brazilian midfielder claimed Gareth Bale was the most complete player he ever shared a dressing room with, even ahead of Cristiano Ronaldo.
Casemiro surprised the football world by placing Gareth Bale above Cristiano Ronaldo when asked about the most complete player he has ever played alongside.
The Brazilian midfielder, who shared the dressing room with both stars during Real Madrid’s golden era, explained that although he considers Cristiano “the best,” Bale possessed a more complete all-around game thanks to his combination of speed, strength, technique and defensive work rate.
Speaking on the Rio Ferdinand Presents YouTube channel, Casemiro reflected on the extraordinary level of the Real Madrid squad that dominated Europe and won multiple Champions League titles.
“Cristiano scores goals, Cristiano gets at least 15 goals. But Bale attacks, defends, scores headers, scores goals, takes free kicks…,” the Brazilian explained.
Despite acknowledging Cristiano Ronaldo’s legendary status, Casemiro made it clear that Bale stood out because of his ability to contribute in every aspect of the game.
“Cristiano is the best. Cristiano is something else. Take Cristiano out of the conversation. But for me, Bale is the most complete. Because he attacks, defends, scores headers, scores from free kicks… He does everything very well, very fast. He’s incredibly strong. For me, Bale is an unbelievable player,” he said.
Gareth Bale played a crucial role during one of the most successful periods in Real Madrid history. The Welsh winger won five Champions League titles with the Spanish giants and scored 106 goals, while also delivering unforgettable performances in finals and decisive matches.
However, despite his achievements, Bale’s relationship with sections of the Real Madrid fanbase and the Spanish media was often difficult. During the latter stages of his time at the Santiago Bernabéu, he faced constant criticism regarding both his attitude and commitment.
Years later, Bale himself admitted that he perhaps could have handled the pressure differently.
“I was stubborn and didn’t want to change, but if I had handled things a little better, I would have been less targeted by the media and the fans,” Bale admitted in comments quoted by Mirror.
Casemiro’s remarks have once again sparked debate over Bale’s legacy at Real Madrid and highlighted the impact of a player who, despite the criticism, left an unforgettable mark during one of the club’s greatest eras.
