The tournament will take place in the United States, Mexico, and Canada.
When are final World Cup squads submitted?
According to FIFA regulations, the process happens in three stages:
- May 11: preliminary lists (35–55 players, including five goalkeepers)
- May 25: clubs must release selected players
- May 25 to June 1: final squad reduced to 23–26 players (three goalkeepers required)

Can players be replaced in final squads?
While final lists are meant to be definitive, FIFA allows changes under specific conditions.
Replacements can be made in case of serious injury or illness, up to 24 hours before a team’s first match.
