Lukaku Admits He Wasn't 100 Percent Mentally

Although he was initially set to take the penalty, Lukaku decided to hand the opportunity to Tielemans instead.

The Belgian striker admitted he is still dealing with a difficult period mentally and felt the team's success was more important than adding another goal to his tally.

"I was going to take it, but I'm still going through some difficult moments mentally, and I preferred Youri to take it. I'm not what matters; the team has to win," Lukaku told RTBF.

He also joked about the emotional roller coaster Belgium experienced while securing its place in the Round of 16.

"I'm sorry to put it this way, but we showed real guts. That's exactly what you need in matches like this. Honestly, I'm already tired of these games that leave you breathless."

Lukaku's Scoring Rate Tops Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo

Despite giving up the penalty, Lukaku continues to showcase his outstanding efficiency for Belgium.
