The Possible Lineup of Canada to Face Bosnia and Herzegovina in the FIFA World Cup 2026
Canada faces its third World Cup with the hope of breaking an adverse streak it has never advanced past the group stage and has accumulated six losses
The inauguration in Canada
The start of the World Cup in Canada is getting closer, and today it's the turn of the Toronto Stadium, where the Maple Leaf team will open their tournament against Bosnia and Herzegovina. The match will be at 5PM ET and 2PM PT, today Friday, June 12, on the second day of the World Cup.
Canada's participation in the World Cups
For Canada, it will be their third participation in a World Cup after the experiences of 1986 and 2022. On both occasions, they were eliminated in the group stage, accumulating a record of six losses, twelve goals against, and only two in their favor. Now, as the host, they will seek to break that streak and achieve their first victory in the history of the tournament, without their star Alphonso David who is injured and they hope he can return in time for the other matches.
These two teams have never faced each other before, so having their first match be in an opening game only adds a World Cup mystique to this match.

Possible line-ups
The Canadian coach would opt for an offensive scheme with Crepeau in goal; Johnston, De Fougerolles, Cornelius, and Laryea in defense; a midfield with Buchanan, Eustaquio, Koné, and Millar; and an attacking duo formed by Jonathan David and Cyle Larin, both with experience in European leagues.
