Did a Children's Book 'Predict' the 2026 World Cup Final? Now It Points to the Champion

Just hours before the 2026 FIFA World Cup Final between Spain and Argentina, a children's book published weeks before the tournament has gone viral on social media because its story features the same matchup. Now, the big question is whether that apparent 'prediction' will also match the eventual champion.
The children's book that 'predicted' the World Cup Final
A Spanish TikTok user sparked widespread attention after showcasing a children's book she found in a bookstore in the United States.
The book, The World's Game, was published on June 2, before the start of the FIFA World Cup. It was written by Yamile Saied Méndez and illustrated by Andrés Landazábal.
What caught fans' attention is that the story features a World Cup Final between Spain and Argentina, the same matchup that will decide the 2026 champion.
Will it also get the winner and the score right?
The similarities do not end with the finalists.
The book also includes illustrations of players who closely resemble Lionel Messi and Marc Cucurella. According to the story, Argentina takes the lead before Luis de la Fuente's Spain stages a late comeback to lift the World Cup trophy.
For now, it remains an intriguing coincidence, as the outcome of the Final has yet to be decided.

The video game that also backs Spain
The book is not the only source attracting attention ahead of the Final.
As it has done before every FIFA World Cup, EA released a tournament simulation, and this time it projected Spain to win the title, although in a Final against England.
The game earned attention after correctly predicting the World Cup champions in the previous four editions: Spain in 2010, Germany in 2014, France in 2018 and Argentina in 2022.
