Hansi Flick Brutally Reminds Real Madrid of Their Most Recent Elimination
Hansi Flick responds to criticism and sends a message to Real Madrid ahead of facing Atlético
FC Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick denied that the team’s path to the Copa del Rey semifinals has been easy simply because they have not yet faced LaLiga EA Sports opponents. And he left a remark that did not go unnoticed:
“And if not, just ask Real Madrid.”
The German coach recalled Real Madrid’s elimination against Albacete, the same opponent Barça faced in the quarterfinals, to emphasize that “you have to respect teams from the Segunda and Tercera divisions, who have done fantastic work.”
“I don’t know what is easier. Last season we played against Barbastro, Betis, and Valencia, and the results were bigger. It’s about respecting opponents who have also shown quality by beating First Division teams,” he reflected.
“Opening up like that means you’re strong. In football, everything is about mentality. As a coach, you have responsibility for all your players,” he said.
He also highlighted the form of Lamine Yamal, saying he is “very happy” with how the youngster handles situations off the field and with his impact in matches:
“For me, the best thing is the hunger he has. He always wants more, and he can still improve a lot.”
Ahead of a crucial clash against Atlético, Flick’s message is clear: respect for every opponent — and total confidence in his squad at one of the most decisive moments of the season.
