Why Didn’t Cristiano Ronaldo Play With Al-Nassr?
Media Reveal the Reason Behind Cristiano Ronaldo’s Absence
Cristiano Ronaldo did not play in Monday’s match against Al Riyadh in the Saudi league and was not even included in the squad list. According to the Portuguese outlet ‘A Bola’, the reason was a protest by the Portuguese forward over his club’s management by the Public Investment Fund (PIF) of Saudi Arabia, especially compared to other league teams, notably Al-Hilal.
The star forward was not even on the bench during the match at Prince Faisal bin Fahd Stadium in Riyadh, according to the official player list.
In Al Nassr’s starting lineup, however, other high-profile players like Íñigo Martínez, Sadio Mané, and Joao Félix were included under coach Jorge Jesús.
According to A Bola, Cristiano Ronaldo was “unhappy with the PIF’s management of his club, which he joined three years ago, especially compared to the treatment of rival teams, including Al Hilal.”
