Get ready for a Last 16 AFCON demolition derby as Ivory Coast and Burkina Faso clash

The biggest plus for Ivory Coast after the group stages is that it certainly went better than this time around than AFCON 2023. In that tournament, the Elephants only just scraped through to the knockouts, and fired the coach.

However, Ivory Coast did go on to win the tournament in one of sport’s greatest comebacks and will be targeting a repeat performance in the Last 16 clash against Burkina Faso that is live on beIN SPORTS on Tuesday.

However, the match-up is going to be a close-fought affair between West African neighbors with forward, Jean-Phillipe Krasso warning that “the level of this AFCON is high, we can see there are almost no small teams.”

Ivory Coast is looking for more inspiration from Manchester United midfielder, Amad Diallo, who has scored two goals in two games and is probably enjoying being away from the drama at his club at the moment.

Burkina Faso also has a Premier League prime performer in Dango Ouattara of Brentford who has scored two of the team’s four goals in the competition so far and leads his team in chances created.

The Last 16 stage is set to go out with a bang in an evenly matched clash between neighbors, that will add even more spice to an already charged affair.
