Max Verstappen Wants to Change His Simulator to Play Mario Kart After His Discontent in Formula 1
The Dutch driver was critical of the new regulations imposed by the FIA for this season and made a comedic and ironic comment
Max’s dissatisfaction
Max Verstappen expressed his dissatisfaction with the new Formula 1 regulations and has become one of the world champions to strongly criticize them. During an official FIA press conference ahead of the Chinese Grand Prix, Verstappen managed to sum up his views humorously and ironically.
The tongue-in-cheek complaint
The Dutchman complained about the energy management in the new cars, as well as the artificial overtakes this causes during the race, which were evident at the Australian Grand Prix last week, reaching staggering numbers compared to last year and, therefore, to the previous regulatory cycle.
The driver addressed the situation in a humorous and ironic tone during the press conference: “I’ve found a cheaper solution. Swap my simulator for a Nintendo Switch with Mario Kart. I'm good with mushrooms, but not so much with blue shells,” said Verstappen, referring to his criticism of the top tier and the change in regulations, as well as expressing his dissatisfaction by comparing the competition to a video game and saying it's cheaper.

Verstappen’s future in Formula 1
“I don’t want to leave, not really. I hope I can have a little more fun, definitely,” said Max, emphasizing that he is not yet thinking about leaving the sport, although he did mention the possibility of participating in other motorsport competitions, such as the Nürburgring 24 Hours, as well as his desire to race at Spa and the Le Mans 24 Hours.
