Cristian Chivu enjoyed a strong debut campaign with Inter, becoming only the fifth coach to win the Scudetto in his first season in the competition with the Nerazzurri. 

Napoli won the Supercoppa Italiana last season and finished second in the league under Antonio Conte, but is now under the guidance of Allegri this season. 

It's been a summer of change among the top Serie A clubs, with Ruben Amorim replacing Allegri at AC Milan, while former Italy boss Gennaro Gattuso is now in charge of Lazio. 

Inter won the league by 11 points last season, scoring the most goals and conceding the joint-fourth-lowest, and it is backed to finish top of the pile once again. 

"Inter are the favourites because they hold the trophy, but there will be at least eight teams to keep an eye on," Allegri said.  "As well as the Nerazzurri and ourselves, also Milan, Juventus, Roma, Fiorentina, Como and Atalanta."

Napoli began its Serie A campaign with a victory, with Kevin De Bruyne and Antonio Vergara coming off the bench and registering a goal and an assist each to help seal a 2-0 victory over Genoa Stadio Comunale Luigi Ferraris. 

It has won its opening match of a Serie A season more than any other side over the last 10 editions, and it takes on Como in its next league match. 

Napoli has won each of its first two Serie A matches in seven of the previous nine seasons in the competition. 

However, Como is unbeaten in its last three Serie A matches against Napoli, after losing all four of the previous encounters, and Allegri set out his plans for the season, where he plans to fight on all fronts.

"It'll be a beautiful and demanding year, we'll have to be good at staying in it in Serie A, the Champions League and the Coppa Italia," he said. 

"The centenary comes around only once, and so we'll have the responsibility of producing an excellent season.

"In the Champions League you have to get through the league phase and then reach the play-offs or ideally the last 16."
