Akliouche swaps Monaco for PSG in €50m deal
Paris Saint-Germain announced the arrival of Maghnes Akliouche from Monaco in a deal reportedly worth up to €50m.
Akliouche was also of interest to Premier League side Liverpool, but he has opted to stay in France and put pen to paper on a five-year deal with Luis Enrique's side.
The 24 year-old is PSG's first big arrival of the summer, having missed out on RB Leipzig's Yan Diomande, who joined Real Madrid earlier in the day.
During his time at Monaco, where he rose through the club's academy ranks, Akliouche made 139 first-team appearances across all competitions.
In 43 appearances across all competitions, he managed seven goals and 10 assists, including a goal against PSG in the play-off knockout round of the Champions League.
Akliouche's impressive campaign earned him a spot in Didier Deschamps' 26-man France squad for the World Cup, but he only made one appearance off the bench.
His arrival at the Parc des Princes could also be an indication of both Bradley Barcola and Ibrahim Mbaye's futures at the club, with the duo reportedly of interest to Liverpool.
Akliouche could make his competitive PSG debut against Aston Villa in the UEFA Super Cup final on 12 August, with the Trophee des Champions showpiece against Lens coming four days later.
PSG begins its Ligue 1 title defence on 23 August at home to Rennes.
