Gabriel proud despite missing key Arsenal penalty
Gabriel Magalhaes labelled his UEFA Champions League final penalty miss as painful, but he remains proud of what Arsenal accomplished this season.
The Premier League champion squandered a 1-0 lead against holder Paris Saint-Germain in Sunday's (AEST) European showpiece, with a penalty shootout required to decide the outcome after a 1-1 draw over 120 minutes.
After Eberechi Eze and Nuno Mendes exchanged misses, Gabriel blazed over in a must-score situation to hand PSG its second successive continental crown.
Arsenal still celebrated its domestic title with a parade through north London on Monday (AEST), and ahead of that celebration, Gabriel took to social media to address his penalty miss and thank Arsenal's supporters.
"It's painful, but I'm proud of this team and everything we achieved together this season," he wrote on Instagram.
"Thank you to our incredible fans for your support every step of the way. You deserve to celebrate this journey with us and enjoy the parade today! See you next season!"
