Sports Burst - Neymar Going Nowhere
Absolute definitive, complete and total proof positive of no Real Madrid move for Neymar and Mbappe from PSG this summer
by Tim Stannard
A graphic indication of PSG's intentions of crashing out of Champions League again with star power in tact
A bleak Sports Burst is packing up the 'Neymar / Mbappe to Real Madrid' banners it had all prepared to take it through those dry summer months of news nothingness.
Neither player is going anywhere this summer. It's official. Nothing to see. Move along.
Sorry, Real Madrid fans, it's Lucas Vazquez for the next ten years.
Both Neymar and Mbappe will remain at PSG, forever being knocked out in comical fashion in the early stages of the Champions League until the pair are in their late 30s and complaining about the kids in the locker room being hooked on a hologram version of Instagram.
First, Neymar's Dad - the power-mover of world football - claimed that he was looking at a new deal for his son with an improved Sister's Birthday clause. Second, Mbappe himself said that PSG was his home.
And third? Proof positive if ever there was one.
As pointed out by Marca on Wednesday, the club is using the image of both Neymar and Mbappe to promote the sale of season passes for next year. And if there is one thing that can block any move of anything, anywhere, it's a graphic department having to do a rework. A universal law.
Staying on the PSG train of destiny and the women's team is in action live on beIN SPORTS today with a second-leg Champions League quarterfinal clash against Chelsea with the English team up 2-0 from the first game. The action gets underway at 1:55PM ET / 10:55AM PT.
Mourinho expected to make Ligue Un move this summer
Heck, might as well stick on beret, clutch a baguette and buy a ticket for the Eiffel Tower as Sports Burst has more fromage-tinged news with French paper L'Equipe speculating that the green and pleasant pastures of Ligue Un are about to be run through with a bulldozer of fury. Yep, Jose Mourinho might be coming to town next season.
After spells in Portugal, England, Italy, Spain, and England again the Special One might becoming the Special 'Un' with a move to a Ligue Un club.
The open question is where. In a recent interview with beIN SPORTS Mourinho admitted that he intended coaching somewhere in June and that Ligue Un was as good a place as any.
However, the options of the right landing spot are limited. PSG seems happy with Thomas Tuchel, Lyon won't really have the resources to keep Mourinho happy. Monaco is back with Leonardo Jardim, however Marseille seems a solid bet for Sports Burst - underperforming under Rudi Garcia, a mad as bats fanbase and an institution with more than a few chips on its shoulder about the rise and rise of PSG in France. Looks like a match made in heaven.
The Sports Burst live show will have a pop at picking Jose Mourinho's next destination. Just head to our beIN SPORTS USA Facebook page at 12PM ET / 9PM PT.
Barcelona set to make hopeful bid for Marcus Rashford
Time to board the transfer train for a couple of stops to try and get us through the doldrums - the bit between the international break and club football returning again on Friday.
Everyone seems to be rushing in the direction of putting Manchester United's Marcus Rashford in Barcelona's team next season as the La Liga outfit looks to plan for a world without Luis Garcia.
And....that's it. Nothing more to see here. Wrapping this whole Wednesday show up.
Hopefully, something else would have happened during the day. If it does then a new show - Post to Post - will have it covered, live on our beIN SPORTS USA Facebook page at 5:30PM ET / 2:30PM PT.
It's a perfect warm-up for some Copa Libertadores action on the channel at 8:30PM ET / 5:30PM PT as Cruzeiro hosts Deportivo Lara, a team that has had quite the challenge getting out of troubled Venezuela to play this match.
