Nice President Defends Vieira
OGC Nice president Rivere has come out to defend coach Vieira against supporter criticism
The president of Nice has defended manager Patrick Vieira against criticism from the club's fans - with an extended analogy about boats.
Nice have made an underwhelming start to the season under the former Arsenal midfielder, sitting eighth in Ligue 1 - albeit only two points off second place - while they are third in their Europa League group after losing two of their opening three fixtures.
However Jean-Pierre Rivere said: "We hear the supporters. Even if they are not at the stadium, we know what's going on. But when we are in a boat, in the middle of the water, we work and we all row together in the same meaning to find solutions.
"We hear things, we are not deaf, but our role is to support the people who are with us in the boat and to ensure that solutions are found together."
