Rafael Nadal Vows To Sue Ex-French Minister Roselyne Bachelot Over Doping Allegations
Having been accused of testing positive by Roselyne Bachelot last week, Rafael Nadal confirmed he will sue the ex-French sports minister.
Rafael Nadal has confirmed he will pursue legal action against Roselyne Bachelot after the former French sports minister alleged he had failed a doping test in 2012.
Nadal's uncle and coach, Toni, expressed outrage last week following Bachelot's claims that a lengthy lay-off for the Spaniard was "without any doubt because he tested positive" and not due to injury.
Speaking at Indian Wells, where he is participating in the BNP Paribas Open, Nadal said: "I'm going to sue her and I'm going to sue everyone who [is] going to comment [on] something similar in the future, because I am tired of that.
"There is a couple of times I heard comments like this … this is going to be the last one, because I'm going to sue her.
"I am tired about these things. I let it go a few times in the past. No more. A minister of France should be serious. This time is the time to go against her."
In the wake of Maria Sharapova's positive test for meldonium, Nadal last week insisted he has always played by the rules.
"I am a completely clean guy," said the former world number one. "I have no temptation of doing a negative thing."
