Iniesta Suffers for Xavi
In an interview with "La Gazzetta dello Sport," Andrés Iniesta spoke about his friend, former teammate, and current Barcelona coach, Xavi Hernández, who is not experiencing his best time with the Spanish club.
The Barcelona legend and current midfielder for Emirates Club, Andrés Iniesta, gave an interview to the famous Italian newspaper "La Gazzetta dello Sport," where he discussed various topics related to the Blaugrana team. He also referred to and dedicated a few words to his great friend and current team coach, Xavi Hernández.
Iniesta made it clear that the irregular moment of Barcelona weighs on him as well. Besides seeing his former club not going through a good time, he also suffers from seeing Xavi in that situation because he knows about
his talent and the love he has for the Catalan club.
"I suffer with him. As a fan and as a friend. Because I know how much coaching Barcelona meant to him and how much he cares about this club. He put incredible passion into it, and no one wants things to go well for him more than him. And he's not doing it for himself or for the club. It's clear that if he's decided to resign, it's only for the good of Barça," commented the Spaniard.
On the other hand, he was also asked about the recent performances of Barcelona's young promises, Lamine Yamal and Pau Cubarsí, who have shown great performance with the team in their last games. However, he stated that they shouldn't have too much pressure now that they're young and should know how to handle that aspect, which could be counterproductive.
"On one hand, it's exceptional that such young guys make it to the first team and play so well. On the other hand, I think these things are always the result of a specific context. The downside: I don't think such young players should carry such a demanding load like Barcelona," mentioned Iniesta.
