Bayern Munich Triumph Over Manchester United in an Epic Match
Bayern Munich defeated Manchester United (4-3) in a match filled with changes, where both teams were clearly sharper in attack than in defense, which led to a goal fest.
The first goal came in the 27th minute. Leroy Sané delivered a ball into the box to Harry Kane, who played it back for Sané himself to release a shot from about twenty meters that ended up in the back of the net after deflecting off Onana's body.
The second goal resulted from an individual play by Jamal Musiala, who dribbled past three defenders to enter the box and then passed the ball to Serge Gnabry, who was free to score with his left foot.
Bayern had shown little more, but the two goals had an impact on United, which, although continued to push forward and had some good approaches with Reguilon's left-wing crosses, no longer seemed as threatening as they had been in the early minutes.
In the 45th minute, Bayern came close to the third goal with a shot by Sané that narrowly missed the post. However, at the start of the second half, United mounted a comeback and seemed to regain the spirit of the opening minutes, even managing to pull one back in the 49th through Höljund.
Bayern had an almost immediate response. First, with a good chance for Musiala in the 50th minute, and then re-establishing their two-goal lead with a penalty converted by Harry Kane in the 54th minute, which had been awarded after a VAR review for a handball in the box.
After the third goal, United seemed dazed, and Bayern had plenty of chances to score a fourth. The best opportunity was a shot by Sané that hit the post in the 56th minute. Afterwards, Onana reacted with good saves to shots from Kane, Sané, and Choupo-Moting.
