Portuguese international Rafael Leão has bid farewell to AC Milan, bringing an end to his seven-year spell with the Italian giants as he prepares to join Turkish side Galatasaray.

The 27-year-old announced his departure following Milan's 2-0 victory over Venezia, admitting that leaving the club where he spent much of his professional career was an emotional moment.

“It is a difficult moment. I said goodbye to my teammates after seven years; the time has come to say goodbye,” Leão said.

The Portuguese forward also reflected on the legacy he leaves at the Rossoneri and the special bond he will always maintain with the club.

“Without a doubt, I will be part of this club's history because of everything I have done. The love I feel for Milan will never disappear; I will always follow the team, even from afar. I can only say thank you.”

Leão joined AC Milan in 2019, following spells with Sporting Lisbon and Lille. During his time wearing the Rossoneri shirt, he scored 80 goals in 291 appearances across all competitions.

He also played a key role in the club's recent success, helping Milan win the Serie A title in 2022 and the Italian Super Cup in 2024.

According to reports, Galatasaray will pay up to €45 million for the Portuguese star, who is expected to sign a contract through 2030, closing a historic chapter at San Siro and beginning a new adventure in Turkish football.
