Mohamed Salah needed just three appearances to produce a star performance for Trabzonspor. The Egyptian scored his first two goals for the club, had another ruled out for offside and led his side to a 2-1 victory over İstanbul Başakşehir, its first win of the Süper Lig season.

Making his first start in the Turkish league, Salah needed only eight minutes to open his account. İstanbul Başakşehir responded through an Eldor Shomurodov penalty in the 19th minute, but 'The Pharaoh' struck again to complete his brace and decide the match.

It was Salah's second start since joining Trabzonspor, having previously been in the starting lineup against Ferencvárosi Torna Club in the first leg of the Europa League Playoffs.

Salah capitalizes on mistake for first Trabzonspor goal

The Egyptian's first big celebration with his new club came early.

In the eighth minute, the İstanbul Başakşehir goalkeeper failed to control the ball and spilled it into Salah's path. The Egyptian reacted first, recovered the loose ball and finished despite a defender's desperate attempt to keep it out.

The ball crossed the line and Salah finally had his first goal in a Trabzonspor shirt.

The lead did not last long.

Eldor Shomurodov converted from the penalty spot in the 19th minute to make it 1-1 and restore parity.

Salah nearly scores a long-range stunner

The equalizer did little to slow down the Egyptian.

Salah came extremely close to scoring with a powerful long-range strike heading toward the top corner, only for the goalkeeper to produce an excellent save.

It proved to be a warning of what was still to come.

Salah struck again to complete his first brace for Trabzonspor, with his second goal ultimately proving decisive in securing all three points.

Salah denied hat-trick by offside

The Egyptian even found the net one more time and briefly appeared to have completed his first Trabzonspor hat-trick.

However, Salah's third goal was ruled out for offside, leaving him with two for the match.

Two were more than enough.

Trabzonspor held on for the 2-1 victory to secure its first Süper Lig win of the season, with Salah at the heart of the performance.
