Another Süper Lig matchday concludes, and Galatasaray secures an important victory in their quest to catch up with Fenerbahçe at the top of the table against a Kayserispor side that missed crucial opportunities to secure the win.

In the first half, Galatasaray confirmed their good form in the 26th minute when Victor Nelsson opened the scoring with a precise header that left the opposing goalkeeper, Bayazit, with no chance. However, Kayserispor's response was late, and they had a golden opportunity in the closing moments of the first half with a penalty that Bahoken couldn't convert into a goal, thanks to a great save by Fernando Muslera.

In the second half, Galatasaray maintained a comfortable lead with constant attacks against a defense that could collapse at any moment. Nevertheless, Aylton Boa Morte took advantage of a defensive error and equalized for Kayserispor in the 57th minute. Later, despite the leveling of the match, a foul on Mertens in the opponent's area would seal the victory for Galatasaray as Dries Mertens executed an excellent penalty kick.

With this result, Galatasaray remains in the second position with 51 points, very close to Fenerbahçe, while Kayserispor stays in eighth place with 29 points and many uncertainties.
