Rafael Leão Sends a Message About His Future at Milan
Rafael Leão’s future is once again generating plenty of noise in the transfer market. Rumors linking the Portuguese star with a move away from AC Milan have intensified in recent days, with Galatasaray emerging as one of the clubs interested in bringing him to Turkey. But this time, the player himself decided to step in.
Leão took to social media to make it clear that any information regarding his future should only come from the people authorized to handle his professional affairs.
The message appears to have one clear objective: to put an end to the constant speculation surrounding his name.
“My only thought is on the pitch: I’m focused on giving my best in every match and every training session,” the Portuguese international wrote.
He then went even further.
“For some time now, I have entrusted all my interests exclusively to my family and my lawyers. No one else is authorized to speak on my behalf.”
Leão Puts the Rumors on Notice
Leão’s comments come at an important moment.
The transfer window remains open, and reports from Turkey continue to link the forward with Galatasaray, while Fenerbahçe and Beşiktaş have also been mentioned as potential suitors for the Portuguese star.
However, the player’s message does not confirm negotiations, a departure or, much less, an agreement.
Quite the opposite.
Leão wanted to draw a very clear line regarding who is authorized to speak about his career. Any information coming from intermediaries or people outside his family and legal team should therefore be treated with caution.
“My mind is on the next objectives,” he added.
For now, those objectives remain tied to AC Milan, where the forward is taking part in preparations for the new season.
Galatasaray Remains Interested in Leão
That does not mean the transfer market has forgotten about the Portuguese international.
Galatasaray continues to be mentioned as one of the possible destinations if the door eventually opens for a move away from San Siro. The biggest obstacle appears to be the financial terms of a potential deal.
According to reports, an initial proposal worth around €35 million was not enough to convince AC Milan.
The Italian club would demand a considerably larger package, with reports placing its asking price at around €60 million between a fixed fee and different add-ons.
Milan would also have no interest in a loan with an option or obligation to buy. If Leão leaves, the club’s intention would be to complete a permanent transfer for a significant fee.
For now, the financial gap remains considerable.

Milan Holds the Advantage in Negotiations
Another important factor is his contract.
Rafael Leão is under contract with AC Milan until June 2028, meaning the Rossoneri are under no obligation to accept an offer they consider insufficient.
That puts Milan in a strong position.
The club can listen to offers, but it can also wait until a team is willing to come much closer to its valuation of the player.
For Leão, meanwhile, his public priority is something else entirely.
Training, playing and staying away from the noise surrounding the transfer market.
The Portuguese star did not announce that he will remain at AC Milan, but he did not open the door to Galatasaray either. What he did do was send a direct message amid all the stories circulating about his future.
For now, only his family, his lawyers and Rafael Leão himself are authorized to speak on his behalf.
Everything else, as the player made clear, should be treated with caution.
