The double recognition is backed by impressive numbers. The 24-year-old scored three goals and provided two assists in four matches during the period considered for the award.

Veiga received 19.05% of the votes from Liga Portugal head coaches to claim the Player of the Month honor.

The Spaniard finished ahead of Benfica striker Vangelis Pavlidis, who received 16.67%, and Santa Clara forward Gonçalo Paciência, with 11.90%.

Gabri Veiga also named best midfielder

The latest honor completes a special week for Porto's No. 10.

Veiga had already been named Liga Portugal's best midfielder for August, earning an impressive 40.48% of the vote.

His performances have also helped fuel Porto's perfect start to the league campaign.

The Dragons have won all six of their Liga Portugal matches and sit at the top of the standings.

Veiga will now have another major stage to continue his impressive form, as Porto hosts Benfica in the Clássico on Sunday in Matchday 7.
