Speaking to Canal 11, the Portuguese midfielder admitted he felt that his departure “would not have been so bad” for the club — a situation that left him saddened rather than angry.
Fernandes insisted he never pushed for a move despite receiving financially attractive proposals. “I could have said I wanted to leave, but I never did,” he explained, suggesting that while the club may have valued the financial aspect, the manager was keen to keep him.
