Super Subs Steal the Show

Lech Poznań delivered the biggest statement of Round 3 handing Piast Gliwice a 3:0 defeat. Piast looked capable of taking something from the game after a goalless first half, but substitutes: Mikael Ishak, Karol Delikat and Allahyar Sayyadmanesh found the net in the final 30 minutes. For the 18-year old debutant Delikat it was his first ever Ekstraklasa goal. He now trails Ishak by… 89 tallies. Sayyadmanesh completed the scoring and it was the second goal in as many games for the Iranian international.

Federico’s Dream Debut

Górnik Zabrze might have struggled to score against Ferencvaros Budapest in the Europa League qualifiers on Thursday (the Hungarian side won 1:0), but on Saturday they showed no mercy to Radomiak. A decisive 3:1 away win was possible thanks to a double by former Real Madrid and Valencia player Peter Federico Gonzalez Carmona. For the 24-year old Dominican Republic international it was his first ever game in Ekstraklasa.

Acosta’s Late Strike, Widzew’s Big Statement & Cracovia’s Goal Drought

In Szczecin, an American Kellyn Acosta scored his second career Ekstraklasa goal and first this season and helped Pogoń beat Motor Lublin 3:1. The 31-year-old Texan found the back of the net in injury time seconds after Makan Aiko pulled one back for Motor. 
In Kraków, 33,000 fans saw two Spaniards settle the “Wisła Derby”. Angel Rodado scored his first of the season and Jordi Sanchez grabbed his 4th goal in 3 games for the home side. Płock answered with a tally by Said Hamulic.
In Białystok, Widzew made the biggest statement of their season so far stunning Jagiellonia 2-0. Two goals in just two minutes after the break secured the first win of the campaign for the Łódź side. This was the first time the Pride of Podlasie lost while being shut down at home since the opening round of the 2025-26 season. 
In Kielce, Legia dropped their first points of the season and surrendered top spot. Łukasz Zjawiński’s first half strike was cancelled by Mateusz Stępiński in the 70th minute. 
In Wrocław, Śląsk looked for their second straight victory at home, but were stopped by Cracovia. Kahveh Zahiroreslam’s team outshot the hosts 18-14 (5-1 on target), but Karol Niemczycki stood tall to keep Śląsk scoreless. Bartosz Grzelak’s 270-minute goal drought is still a long way from the Ekstraklasa record. It belongs to Hutnik Kraków, which in 1995-96 went scoreless for 683 minutes (7 games

Next Up: Górnik-Wisła Classic Awaits

Other than the Mazovia Region Derby (Legia - Radomiak) or Lower Silesia Derby (Zagłębie - Śląsk) all eyes will be on Górnik Zabrze - Wisła Kraków classic. Both teams boast an impressive 14 Ekstraklasa titles and are in the hunt for more silverware. Górnik are favorites and will look to extend their perfect start in front of yet another sell out at Arena Zabrze. In order to do that they need to find a way to stop Jordi Sanchez, who scored in all three games so far this season.
