What’s Going on With Franco Mastantuono? He Trained Separately From Real Madrid
Franco Mastantuono injury update: Real Madrid closely monitoring Argentine talent before Real Sociedad clash
Real Madrid returned to training this Tuesday after their 2–0 LaLiga victory over Valencia at Mestalla, with much of the focus placed on Franco Mastantuono, who raised concerns after suffering a knock in the previous league match.
Real Madrid monitoring Mastantuono’s recovery
During the first of four training sessions preparing for the LaLiga match against Real Sociedad at the Santiago Bernabéu, Álvaro Arbeloa’s coaching staff chose to take precautions with the young Argentine midfielder, who sustained a blow to his left thigh on Sunday.
Mastantuono remained indoors undergoing physiotherapy treatment, but the club remains optimistic. According to Real Madrid sources, his availability for the Real Sociedad game is not in doubt, and he is expected to return to full training with the squad on Wednesday.
The Argentine prospect’s progress is being closely tracked by the coaching staff, as Mastantuono has quickly become one of Real Madrid’s most promising young players and a footballer with growing importance in Arbeloa’s squad.
Training intensity increases at Valdebebas
Meanwhile, the players who started against Valencia completed physical work on the pitch under Antonio Pintus, taking advantage of a week without Copa del Rey fixtures to increase the training load. The session also included gym work and small-sided tactical drills.
In the Real Madrid injury list, Éder Militão, Rodrygo Goes, and Jude Bellingham continue their recovery programs and will miss the next league match.
Vinícius Jr., however, trained at full intensity and is expected to return to the starting lineup against Real Sociedad, in a match where attention will remain on Franco Mastantuono’s recovery and development, one of the most exciting South American prospects at Real Madrid.
