Laporta Celebrates His Victory With a Huge Party at a Famous Barcelona Nightclub
The presidential election night ended with an unforgettable celebration in Barcelona. The newly re-elected president closed the day with music, champagne and a strong Barça atmosphere.
A long night after the election victory
The re-election of Joan Laporta as president of FC Barcelona ended with a lively celebration at Luz de Gas, one of the most iconic nightlife venues in the Catalan capital.
After a marathon day marked by voting at the Spotify Camp Nou, the Barça president decided to close the evening surrounded by members of his campaign team and trusted collaborators. Shortly after 3:00 a.m., Laporta arrived at the entrance of the club with a message that captured the mood of the moment: “Now it’s time to celebrate, we deserve it.”
The Barça anthem set the tone
Laporta’s entrance into the venue quickly turned into a memorable moment. As the FC Barcelona anthem began to play, the president sang along loudly while raising his fist and greeting those waiting inside.
Once inside, the celebration continued with a distinctly Barça atmosphere. In addition to the club anthem, songs associated with the campaign — including “Defensem el Barça” — were played throughout the night.
Music from the 1980s also filled the dance floor, with classic hits such as “Sufre Mamón” by Hombres G, “Amante Bandido” by Miguel Bosé, and “Ni Tú Ni Nadie” by Alaska y Dinarama, turning the celebration into a full-blown party.
Champagne and a victory cigar
The festive mood reflected the satisfaction of the president after receiving the backing of the Barcelona membership in the election.
During the celebration, Laporta popped bottles of champagne and appeared with a victory cigar, a symbol that has become common in many sporting celebrations since legendary images of Michael Jordan celebrating championships with a cigar in hand.
A celebration with his closest circle
The party continued deep into the night inside the distinctive atmosphere of Luz de Gas, with the Barcelona president surrounded by his closest allies.
Among those present were board member Xavi Puig and communications strategist Gabriel Martínez, who had played a key role throughout the campaign.
Shortly after 4:00 a.m., Laporta left the venue, bringing an end to a historic day that marked the beginning of his new confirmed mandate as president of FC Barcelona, with the responsibility of guiding the club into its next chapter.
