Camavinga Dreams of Participating in Paris 2024
The 21-year-old French midfielder for Real Madrid, Eduardo Camavinga, acknowledged that one of his goals for this year is to participate in the Paris Olympics this summer.
"The Olympics are also an objective. They don't happen every day in France, but first, we'll focus on the Euros (which are held in Germany in June and July), and then we'll position ourselves regarding the Olympics," stated the former Rennes midfielder in an interview on the TF1 program Telefoot.
Many clubs view their players' participation in the Olympics with suspicion - the Paris Olympics take place between July 26 and August 11 - because they are very close to the start of the season in Europe and fear that the players will take longer to get fit.
Linked with Real Madrid until 2029 following his renewal in November 2023, the midfielder admitted that he dreams of finishing his career at the Spanish club.
"Real Madrid has only given me good things. It's everyone's dream (to finish their career at the Merengue club), especially mine. The idea is to be here for as long as possible," he judged.
Camavinga stated that his team fears "no one" for the Champions League quarterfinals, where they could face Kylian Mbappé's PSG, and asserted that the goal this season is to win the domestic league and the Champions League.
In the interview, during which the midfielder appeared smiling and relaxed on several occasions, he said that his versatility is "innate," revealed that his coach, Carlo Ancelotti, asks him to score more goals, and disclosed his promise if France wins the Euro this June and July in Germany.
"I will dye the tips of my dreadlocks in white, red, and blue (colors of the French flag)."
