Bellingham Claims It's "Ridiculous" to Be Sanctioned with Two Matches
Jude Bellingham, the English midfielder for Real Madrid, stated that it is "ridiculous" to be sanctioned with two matches for the red card he received at Mestalla, due to his heated protest towards referee Gil Manzano and for asserting that the disallowed goal was a "damn goal" as the final whistle blew.
"It's hard to say anything because there are investigations and appeals underway, and what happened, happened with the referee and his decision to blow the whistle. We all know what happened. We have to remember he is human, but so am I. They should use a bit more common sense to judge my actions because I didn't say anything offensive; I acted similarly to my teammates," declared the Real Madrid star on Movistar.
"Sometimes I think that because I'm new, they want to set an example with me. I take it well because at the end of the day, I must be responsible for my actions and I gave them the reason to send me off. I believe the club can come to an agreement with their appeal because two matches for that is a bit ridiculous, but if I have to take responsibility, I will support the team from the stands," he added.
