Barcelona Transfers Julián Araujo to Bournemouth in Premier League
The Mexican player is leaving the Spanish team to play in the Premier League for $10.9 million.
Barcelona is still making moves before their La Liga debut and announced on Tuesday the transfer of Mexican right-back Julián Araujo to Premier League side Bournemouth for €10 million ($10.9 million).
Araujo joined the Catalan club in February 2023 from LA Galaxy, but he never got to wear the Barça jersey, as he spent last season on loan at Unión Deportiva Las Palmas.
The club’s plan was for him to gain experience with the reserve team, but interest from Las Palmas led him to play under Francisco Javier Garcia Pimienta. With UD Las Palmas, he made 28 appearances and scored two goals.
This season, the Mexican right-back participated in the U.S. tour under the guidance of Hansi Flick, but the German coach decided not to include him in his plans.
As a result, Barcelona will generate some income to potentially secure one last signing before the new season kicks off when they face Valencia at Mestalla Stadium on Saturday, August 17.
