Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti acknowledged after the team's latest setback on the road, a 1-1 draw against UD Las Palmas at the Estadio de Gran Canaria on Thursday, that his squad is not being "solid and decisive," and emphasized the need to find a "quick solution" as the schedule is tightening.

In the post-match press conference, the Italian coach admitted they had a "bad first half" where they had to "hold on and suffer a bit" because the team has not found the "balance" it needs.

"We're not quick in ball circulation, we struggled to win the ball back, which also happened to us against Mallorca," he analyzed.

Ancelotti conceded that they are currently not showing the "solidity" of the previous season, and it is his responsibility to "find the improvement," which he is confident he will achieve to "give the players more clarity."

To do so, they need to focus "on what we want to do and where we want to go," because, as he admitted, it's proving more challenging than expected.

'Carletto' acknowledged that it is a "footballing problem," pointing out that their play "is slow, there isn't much movement, when the ball reaches the forwards, the opposition is already organized, and without the ball, we struggle to be compact. We leave spaces between the lines in the middle block, and there is too much distance... the problem is quite clear."

However, Ancelotti does not believe it's a matter of character, mentality, or attitude: "The team trains well, but sometimes these things happen in football. Things aren't going our way, and we need to fix it soon. We can't afford to drop these points in the two away games," he lamented.

The Real Madrid coach will have to seek a reaction with the players currently at his disposal, as he confirmed that the squad "is closed," ruling out any last-minute transfers before the deadline at midnight this Friday.
