Morocco wants to surprise the world once again
The Morocco national team officially confirmed the 26 players who will represent the country at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, set to take place in the United States, Mexico, and Canada.
After making history at Qatar 2022 by becoming the first African nation ever to reach a World Cup semifinal, Morocco arrives once again with enormous expectations and one of the most talented generations in all of African football.
In addition, the Atlas Lions enter the tournament as reigning CAF champions, although the continental title was ultimately awarded through a bureaucratic decision following the major controversy surrounding the final against Senegal.

Player to watch
All eyes will once again be on Achraf Hakimi, who arrives at the 2026 World Cup as one of the best full-backs on the planet and the undisputed leader of Morocco’s national team.
The PSG defender has fully established himself as a global superstar thanks to his speed, personality, and ability to deliver in the biggest matches. He will also carry the responsibility of leading a Moroccan generation that genuinely believes it can make history once again.
With his elite-level experience and his impact on both ends of the pitch, Morocco will be an extremely difficult opponent for any team in the tournament.
Sofiane Boufal was left out of the squad
One of the biggest surprises of the squad announcement was the absence of Sofiane Boufal, one of the heroes of Morocco’s historic run at the 2022 World Cup.
The current Le Havre player failed to make Mohamed Ouahbi’s final list, a decision that surprised many Moroccan fans considering the important role the winger played during the unforgettable campaign in Qatar.
Instead, the manager opted for a younger, more athletic, and dynamic squad built to compete against the strongest teams in the world.

Morocco once again inspires all of Africa
Few African national teams arrive at the World Cup carrying as much excitement as Morocco.
The combination of established European stars, emerging young talent, and the confidence gained from Qatar 2022 makes the Atlas Lions one of the most dangerous teams outside the traditional global powers.
Placed in Group C alongside Brazil, Scotland, and Haiti, Morocco will open its World Cup campaign against the Seleção on June 14 in one of the most anticipated matches of the entire group stage.
