Emmanuel Agbadou suffered a catastrophic slip at the worst possible moment, serving the ball up on a silver platter to the experienced Ecuadorian striker inside the box. Valencia, with his eyes locked on the goal, tried to finish at lightning speed as Fofana rushed out, but his adrenaline got the best of him, and his shot flew completely over the crossbar.

The African champions arrive in the tournament with growing confidence after establishing themselves as one of the continent's strongest teams. Head coach Emerse Faé has built a squad that combines physical strength, tactical discipline and explosive attacking talent.

Their preparation received a significant boost earlier this month when the Elephants secured an impressive 2-1 victory over France in an international friendly, reinforcing the belief that they can challenge top-tier opponents on the global stage.

On the other side will be an Ecuadorian team arriving at the World Cup with high expectations. Head coach Sebastián Beccacece has built one of South America's most solid defensive units, led by William Pacho and Piero Hincapié, while also relying on the midfield quality of Moisés Caicedo and the goalscoring experience of Enner Valencia.
