Germany will face Paraguay in the FIFA World Cup 2026 Round of 32. With Manuel Neuer, Jamal Musiala, Florian Wirtz, and Kai Havertz leading the way, Die Mannschaft will look to showcase its quality and advance to the next round.
Germany looks to strengthen its title credentials
After advancing through the group stage with a squad full of talent and experience, Germany will look to dictate the tempo from the opening whistle and secure its place in the next round of the tournament.
Using a 4-2-3-1 formation, Julian Nagelsmann's side is expected to rely on a balance of defensive solidity, attacking creativity, and the mobility of its forwards to overcome a Paraguay team known for its tactical discipline and intensity.
Leading the defense
In goal, Manuel Neuer is expected to remain Germany's first-choice goalkeeper.
The back line would feature Joshua Kimmich at right back, with Jonathan Tah and Antonio Rüdiger forming the central defensive partnership, providing physicality, aerial strength, and defensive stability. On the left flank, David Raum would offer attacking width and consistent support going forward.
Driving the attack
In the double pivot, Felix Nmecha and Aleksandar Pavlovic would be responsible for providing balance in midfield and winning back possession.
Further forward, Jamal Musiala would operate on the right wing, Florian Wirtz would play as the attacking midfielder, and Leroy Sané would start on the left. The trio would provide pace, creativity, flair, and the ability to create scoring opportunities.
The focal point up front
As the lone striker, Kai Havertz would once again serve as Germany's main attacking threat.
In addition to his presence inside the penalty area, Havertz can drop deeper to help build up play, creating space for Musiala, Wirtz, and Sané to make runs from deeper positions.
