Marcelo Adds Recopa to His Trophy Collection: How Many Titles Does He Have?
The former Real Madrid player now has more than 30 titles after adding this new trophy to his collection.
Fluminense achieved its first ever Recopa Sudamericana title after overturning the unfavorable result from the first leg against Liga de Quito, thus avenging the humiliating defeats suffered against the Ecuadorian team in continental tournament finals held at Maracanã, namely in the Libertadores in 2008 and the Sudamericana in 2009.
One of the most euphoric was Marcelo, and with good reason. After conquering the Libertadores against Boca, the former Real Madrid player added one more title to his extensive trophy collection.
At the moment, the Brazilian full-back, who entered the field in the 67th minute, boasts a total of 31 titles in his career, including 5 Champions League trophies, 6 La Liga titles, and 4 Club World Cups.
The 35-year-old Brazilian also won 5 Supercopas de España, 2 Copa del Rey titles, 3 UEFA Super Cups, 1 Confederations Cup, 2 Campeonatos Cariocas, and 1 Taça Río.
Most of them were conquered during his successful stint at Real Madrid, the club where he played for over 15 years after arriving, precisely from Fluminense, before returning to the Brazilian club after a brief spell at Greek side Olympiacos.
