Fernando Gago sparked concern across South American football after experiencing health issues following Universidad de Chile's win over O'Higgins. Reports of a possible heart attack quickly emerged, but no official diagnosis has been confirmed.
What is known is that the Argentine coach is undergoing medical examinations.
Universidad de Chile confirms cardiovascular tests
The Chilean club announced on Friday that Gago did not oversee training because he was being evaluated by doctors.
"We inform that our head coach, Fernando Gago, is undergoing a series of cardiovascular examinations and will not be in charge of today's training session," Universidad de Chile said in an official statement.
The club also reassured supporters about his condition.
"He is in good condition and is accompanied by our medical staff," the statement added.

Why was he taken to the hospital?
According to Chilean media reports, Gago was taken to a medical facility after Universidad de Chile's 2-0 victory over O'Higgins at the National Stadium in Santiago.
However, neither the club nor those close to the coach have specified what caused the episode or confirmed that he suffered a heart attack.
For now, he remains under observation while doctors continue conducting tests to determine the source of his symptoms.
Gago still faced the media
Despite the scare, the former Boca Juniors and Racing Club manager attended the post-match press conference and discussed his team's performance.
The victory moved Universidad de Chile into third place in the Chilean league standings, two points behind Universidad Católica and twelve behind leaders Colo Colo.
Will he coach the next match?
Pending a definitive diagnosis, Gago is not expected to be on the touchline for Universidad de Chile's upcoming Copa Chile clash against Santiago Wanderers.
Assistant coach and former Argentina defender Fabricio Coloccini is likely to take charge while Gago focuses on his recovery.
